Social Media for Humans
Creating supportive online spaces with Mel Biggs
Show Notes

A celebratory episode as I'm chatting to Queer Folk musician, Mel Biggs (she/her), who has just launched her new album From Darkness Comes Light. We discuss creating your own supportive spaces online as a Queer woman in a niche area and how Mel's figured out social media in a "suck it and see" way!

Mel Biggs is a musician and diatonic accordion teacher based in South Derbyshire, UK. She is an established performer, Morris musician and folk music educator both in the UK and across the world through her online teaching work. She has built a solid reputation in the world of online melodeon teaching through her online courses "Pick Up & Play with Mel Biggs: Let's Get Started!" and Mel's Angels musician's club via Patreon. She has recently started branching out as an online teaching business mentor with her 7 Days to Success online course and support group

Mel spent lockdown recording her debut album "From Darkness Comes Light" which is out now! The album comprises 12 tracks of original material documenting a long journey with mental health, and the relationship between mood, light and the seasons.
